Existing Sending Domains
Sending domains are necessary to add as you can’t keep a send from domain field empty while you setup a mail server in MailCarry. Adding and verifying the sending domains is discussed in a separate article, here in this article, we’ll discuss the management of the sending domains.
In this Article.. .
- How can I view and Manage Sending Domains?
Click “Sending Domains” from the main navigation under the “Setup” to view and manage the existing sending domains on the resulting page. Like all other view pages across the MailCarry, this view page also shows existing records in a table that has the following columns to show domain information and gives you an ability to perform certain actions discussed in this article.
- ID– Every sending domain name is assigned with a unique ID within MailCarry
- Domain– URLs of the sending domains are listed under this column. Every row has a different sending domain and the rows next to the name provide information with regard to a particular sending domain.
- Active– What’s the status of a sending domain between Active or Inactive? Resources with active can take part in the sending process.
- Signing Enabled– Again it is a “Yes” or “No” value under this column according to the preference you’ve set for the DKIM signing while configuring the sending domain within MailCarry.
- Verification– Under the next three columns, you are being informed about the DNS verification status of a particular domain within MailCarry. The first column shows if the key pair is correctly configured and validated with the public key entry placed in the DNS, second is for another TXT record SPF and third is for the CNAME to show if the tracking link is properly configured and redirecting. A cross sign under these columns indicates that the DNS isn’t verified for these records, and a check sign indicates the successful verification of the records.
- Created– Date and time when the sending domain was added and saved within the system
Under the Actions
View
A sending domain is added and saved with just adding its name, the system redirects you to the DNS validation page, but in case, you didn’t complete the process of validation then, you can do it now by clicking the icon “View” under actions. It is the same page discussed earlier in the article of adding a sending domain under the heading of “DNS Records and Authentications”.
Verify Records
The next four actions are specific to verifying the DNS records that you’ve placed for the sending domain. Sometimes it may take longer than expected to fully propagate with the DNS changed you’ve made, and you may repeatedly need to perform verification process for confirming the status. These one-click action buttons will help you do this.
- Verify DNS– This will perform a complete verification check of the all three DNS records to check which one of the three is validated against the DNS entry and which is still not confirming.
- Verify Records separately– The next three actions are for the separate verification of each record from DKIM, SPF and Tracking CNAME. This will help you separately check a specific record for the verification if the rest of the records are already verified, i.e. opting to Verify DKIM only if the SPF and DKIM have already been verified.
Download Keys
Click the button to download a pair of both public and private keys for the DKIM entry; it will download the keys in zip format.
How can I delete sending domains?
Not very different than what you already have learned to perform for other resources across the MailCarry view pages. A specific domain can be deleted by clicking “Delete” under the “Actions” columns of the table, while multiple records can be deleted by selecting the records from the first column of the table and then clicking “Delete” placed under the actions menu slightly above the right side corner of the table.
